Ah…To the Young Miss Ducre 🙂
In the words of Marianne Williamson, I say to you… “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of a higher power. Your playing small does not serve the world… We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of a higher power that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same…”
Some other words of advice to help you along your way… Stay true to who you are… remember the lessons taught by your parents and those who paved the way before you…

Achievement… don’t let others tell you that you can’t… as you have been taught and will learn time and time again, ALL things are possible…

Competition… Keep your eyes focused on your goal… As dad has always taught you, “don’t look to the left or the right at what your peers are doing. Doing so requires you to take your “eyes off the prize” and will only slow you down

In all things, follow your gut… that little voice inside steering you to the right decision over time has never proven to be wrong

Change is good… the things that are for you should not be painstaking or difficult but easy as your steps have been ordered. You will leave your first job at Procter & Gamble to go to IBM and never look back… so embrace new assignments as your best experiences will come from these opportunities

In the things you receive / accomplish in life, make sure you seek to understand why you were led down that path and the lessons that you are to take away

Stay grounded in your faith… It will be a constant guide for you when no one else is there

Finally, remember to say “I love you” more often to those you care for, take more time out to “smell the roses”, take your vacation time, and most importantly take care of yourself.
Onward and Upward.. Love always,
